Mayor’s Opening
Address and Report: Sorry to have
missed the Christmas party, but got called in to move snow. Had approximately 20 people in
attendance. Would love to see others
participate next year.
Old Business
Ordinances and Issues: Shed has been moved slightly, but is
still not in compliance. It may be a
safety hazard and still within 5' of side of property. Are working on resolving the issue. Morrison took some photos of some "eye
sores" around the community, including junk and junk vehicles. Had a
question about an ordinance addressing dead trees. Don't currently have any ordinance on the
issue. Will put a reminder to clean up
yards in spring newsletter, and send out notices to offenders following that if
issues are not resolved in a timely manner.
ICAP
Safety Grant: Will
submit a grant for two sand containers for the roads, as well as rubber mulch
for the playground and solar lights for the park. The clerk will submit the request before the
end of December. Will keep council up to
date, if any funds are received.
Lake
preservation: Tabled until a later date. Mayor will forward
Annual Financial
Report: Posted at the
three city signs and uploaded and mailed to states.
New Business
FY
2018 Budget: Clerk will
present a streamlined budget proposal at the January meeting, due to high legal
fees occurred in the last fiscal year.
That will allow the council to amend and have ready by February meeting,
and the public hearing before the March deadline.
2017
Projects: Spring projects:
need to trim some dead trees. If anyone
needs firewood, please contact Lennie Smith at 990-4951, and you may assist in
cutting them down. This includes trees along
the dam, as well as those hanging over the road. Also need to put up solar lights in the park
and put up stop signs.
Council
Report: None.
Clerk Report: Will work up proposed budget for next
meeting.
Maintenance Report:
Will
try to clean up maintenance building this winter and acquaint Matt with
everything. Heath will follow up on
Titan tires for the city tractor.
Adjournment: Schultz moved to adjourn the meeting
at 7:39 p.m. Morrison seconded. Ayes:
All.
These minutes
are as recorded by the City Clerk and are subject to council approval at the
next City Council meeting.
